At Chennai we met up with Bro. Guna and some of our Indian brethren – including Bro. Judson and Bro. Sindersen, but our luggage was delayed for 12 hours, so we rented rooms on the St. Thomas Mtn. to rest for a while and then tour the mountain. I got my first feel for Indian driving on the way to St. Thomas Mtn. There was a man walking in the road talking on his cellphone. Our mirror actually clipped the guy! He had a startled look on his face and jumped off the road into a mud puddle! Indian driving has a way of getting your attention! St. Thomas Mtn. is the site where the Apostle Thomas was historically martyred. He was pierced through with a spear by a Brahmin. It is a beautiful place on the side of a mountain. A Catholic shrine is on the site at the present time.
